Tea culture with rich history in China, Jian Zhan Teacup (also called Tian Mu Porcelain) as a representative black pottery, is a symbol of traditional Chinese tea culture. Each Jian Zhan is unique, natural and attractive, varies in colors, patterns and designs, which depends on the distinctive clay and glaze, the skillful craftsmen and the special kiln where it’s made under high temperature (1300℃). 

Jian Zhan has existed in the province of Fujian in China since the Northern and Southern Dynasties (220–589), while the splendor period was during the Southern Song Dynasty when tea-making and tea-competitions became a most significant part of tea culture. With the pursuit of high standard of tea ware, the distinctive black pottery Jian Zhan were adored by many people, including not only the Imperial family, but also the ordinary folks. The representative Jian Zhan with stunning patterns were Black glaze, Partridge feather glaze, Rabbit hair glaze, Oil drop glaze, Yao Bian etc. nowadays, Jian Zhan is not only a pottery to drink, but also an artwork to collect and a channel of traditional Chinese tea culture to explore.
